I have done it with Streaming to YouTube, but that is streaming via OBS (not using a virtual webcam). OBS is more for streaming, but I *think* OBS-VirtualWebcam allows the output to be sent to a "virtual webcam" which you can then use Zoom use as the video source. I have not tried on Windows recently though, but my reading is it *should* be possible. I was going to use NDI to stream a video signal from my Windows laptop to my Mac to balance the CPU across machines.

(This does not mean its not possible!!) I think Windows does support virtual cameras, just Mac OS does not (any more). So I could not work out a way to get any virtual camera going into Google Meet/Hangouts. But it looks like on the latest Mac OS they closed some "loop holes" in security, and some of the virtual camera packages stopped working.

To be blunt, the effort to troubleshoot would be not justified if you can solve this with a decent hardware interface in my opinion.I am not a Zoom expert, but my limited playing with Google Hangouts/Meet is that software can pick things up from a camera or a captured screenshot (using "present" mode). It is possible that the problem could be CameraLive not sending data in accordance with the spec. While you say it works with OBS and not Wirecast, I'd still personally advise to take a different path. The cost of a hardware interface just made it so much easier to follow a different path. I just didn't find the effort made it worth my while to continue with it. I've subsequently gone to hardware inputs using HDMI or other USB connected cameras.ĬameraLive release notes indicate the last change was two years ago according to the changelog. I didn't have flicker issues, but I was never happy with its stability. I also observed high CPU load when using it. I found that CameraLive was not stable enough for me, and crashed frequently.

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 If there is something behind the syphon layer the flicker will show the lower element (like there is a brief disconnection and reconnection) If it Helps, The flicker happens randomly either in the live, preview, or Live icons, but never at the same time, (I also tried disabling the GPU animated icons with no avail). Similar to johan_victor, I can't use a hardware capture card as my camera doesn't offer clean HDMI, and I cannot bring myself purchase another camera (and capture card) in times like these. (I'm using Catalina, and Syphon has worked for me in OBS & Ecamm Live). I can only reproduce the flicker with Wirecast and its Virtual Camera. I also always use a similar setup (Canon M50 with CameraLive) as a webcam feed for Zoom meetings with no issues (along with CamTwist). I think it is a Software problem (Wirecast), as I tried using Camera Live in OBS with Syphon (at the same time and separately) and while Wirecast's feed was flickering, OBS one was clean and consistent. Yesterday, After some testing with another colleague (he also has a M50 and used Camera Live with Wirecast and OBS), we realized it was a Wirecast Issue. I created an account solely for this thread as I now know I'm not the only one experiencing this.
