Nominated - 48th NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series Cunningham is currently directing an episode of HBO's Insecure (TV series), after wrapping up her second episode of Transparent. Cunningham was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in December 2016 for directing the season 3 finale of Transparent (TV series), which premiered on Amazon in September 2016. It screened at Carnegie Hall in October and was given a five-minute standing ovation. That Autumn, Cunningham produced and directed a documentary short for Glamour Magazine focusing on five women who survived the Charleston church shooting or who lost family members. In 2014, she was selected for the inaugural Fox Global Initiative Director's Lab. She consequently joined the Sundance Institute's Film Forward Program and the Sundance Institute's Women Filmmakers Initiative in 2013 and was selected for their "FilmTwo" Initiative Program to develop her second feature. Marta's first feature-length documentary Valentine Road was selected to compete in the U.S Documentary Competition in the 2013 Sundance Film Festival that was nominated for two News and Documentary Emmy Awards, and later premiered on HBO in October 2013. Marta Cunningham is an American director, producer, actor, and dancer.
